Next I bolted the plates to the sides of the radiator. One side I bolted tight. The other side I put in 1/4 worth of washers to shim it out away from the radiator. Then I rethought it and put one set of the washers under the tight side to shim it for welding the plates to the frame to help from overheating the radiator. I know how low the melting point of lead is compared to steel and I didn't want to get it to hot directly on the radiator.
