Latter, before I start bolting everything back in I am going to cover the back side of the sheet metal in polished stainless steel.

I have not cleaned up the lower part here. I needed to get the rustbullet on to beat the rain this week.

Rear of the bus

I have spent the last week seal welding in the 1/8 steel sheet for the rear wall. I also added the three ribs and the extra wall bow to seal up the engine compartment.

I added the angle iron just below the floor to make a step up in the wheel ceiling. I can get 1 and a half inches of pour foam above the fuel tank, but I stepped down to 3 inches above the tire. I am trying to rid myself of all of the road noise I can.

Heres the same plate I fabbed up, welded into the frame.

This is 1/4 inch plate steel I have cut out to fit-up in the frame for the shock mount. Originally the bolts were 5/16th but I bumped them up to 1/2 inch to beef them up a bit.

Here's a shot of the outside rear right after I got the welds on this side cleaned up and the Rustbullet applied.

Welding the tank support to the frame

You can see here I have the bumpstop plate welded in allready and the tank support is ready to be welded over it. These small details really eat up the clock.

Here's the end result....lol.... now to layout the bolt holes and to weld them to the frame.

After they are seal welded to the frame I will re-tap them to clean out the threads.

First I cut heated and bent the wrap around leaving it long to give myself some play. Then I roughed out the lid.

Here's where the tank support goes. I will have to tap the plates for the rubber bump stops and seal weld them on first as it will cover them up.

Some of the small stuff seems to take forever. Here is a pic of the rear fuel tank support. It is the small square protruding "box" with the two holes in it.

And Silver Eagle Bus comes thru again. These are the four new shackle mounts that weld into the bus frame. They left the tops loose (tacked on) so that I could seal weld them inside and out. And you thought I was kidding when I said it all had to go.....lol..........

Here is one pair of two of the boggie mounting plates for the frame. These will weld into the bus under the fuel tank areas. They are laser cut out of 1/4 inch plate steel. Super quality piece here boys. I was impressed with the cut on these. The other pair is already clamped to the bus ...lol.....

Floor joist in the bus floor

I now have all the floor joist in the bus now. Here I have just about completed welding in the 1/8 inch thick straping along the outside walls. I allso am seal welding one along the ceiling of the wheel wells to seal out the water and hopefully help curb the rust intrusion again.

They are all in now. Later I will frame in the openings for the propane tank vent hole and for electrical, fresh and waste water openings that need to go thru the floor. I have worked out a way to power out my waste pipe by just hitting a rocker switch like the Marathon guys have. I will fill you in on it later.

Here,s a good shot of the new 1/8 inch thick wall form for the rear wall. Later I think it will end up with polished stainless over it. I am looking forward to getting the Rust Bullet on it before it starts to get the rust scale on it.
